The Selection by Kiera Cass

Okay, okay. I didn't want to have to, but I have no options.

Everyone knows I'm a die-hard fan of fantasy and fiction! But sometimes I like to change the genre of literature I read a little bit and, not wanting to give my Portuguese high school teacher right, Romance is one of the literary genres I like to read the most when I'm not in the mood to read about magic or alternate worlds.

There, I said it!

And I never expected (believe me, I never really expected!) that the novel developed by Kiera Cass would make me cry like I was a one month old baby.

But the truth is, that's what happened.

You know when you read a book and during the story you start biting your pillow to keep you from screaming because the story is so engaging? Or those books that make you close the book and take three deep breaths before resuming reading? Or even those books that you get so caught up in that you can't concentrate during an online class, so you leave Zoom and go read?

Yes, "The Selection" is that book!

And the best part is, it's so real it feels like you are America. You are the ones who suffered with Aspen's decision, you are the ones who are participating in the contest, you are the ones who know Prince Maxon... And you are the ones who fall in love with him. It's not America that is feeling all that. You are the ones living that story!

Creepy? Perhaps. But worth the 5⭐!
